The University of Pretoria campus is home to some of the best regionalist modern architecture in the city, and has a tradition of excellence in commissioning buildings particular to their time. The new Law Faculty is the first major building commissioned on campus after democracy. It is required to embody the principles of transparency and gravitas – and successfully addresses this potential conflict of expression.
